Oh boy, where do I even begin, previously 5 years ago, in 2020 I began to hear about a virus that has been killing people everywhere, this virus is not here yet, but the numbers are rising 3000 people are dying every day in Spain and Italy, fear takes over the world, then hearing about some cases in my country, hearing family member getting it and dying from it, in my neighborhood many people are dying or in the ICU, then the whole world shut down, the streets are empty, curfew as if it’s WWIII, the world is fighting this new invisible enemy, it is everywhere, it doesn’t matter who you are, how much money you have it crept on every door and castle, to see people dying by millions like the end of time, and the world is falling in front of our eyes, life as a whole stopped, European capitals are empty, no souls at the streets.  At that time, the divorce rate went up, physical abuse numbers went up, and people for the first time forced to be around each other all the time, during quarantine people met their loved ones for the first time, for introverts, it was surreal to be around people all the time and the fact that you don’t get a moment for yourself is unbelievable, if you are an extroverted person being inside the house for too long, that was like being in prison. With all the uncertainty and dark days, just when I thought that this dark moment would unite the world and bring us together, the universe gave us a hard test just to show us our vulnerability and weakness, especially when facing something we only heard about in history books, the Spanish flu, the black death “plague” and other diseases and viruses that killed millions of people. As humans we failed big time, the government failed us, our communities were unable to rise up to the challenge, it ended up becoming political, and people turned it into left and right. Just like that, facts and genuine conversations got lost, and instead of dealing with it through a healthy dialogue, everything turned into a fight, if the left says it’s wrong, then automatically the right will say it’s correct, and if someone on this side says the virus is a lap leak the other side will make sure to ridicule them, and just so on every other issue.

Let me start with the lap leak theory, which turned out to be true. It wasn’t a virus that came from nature and developed in a lap, it was supposed to be an issue of stating the facts and telling the truth about what happened, a matter of accountability not a matter of the right or the left, it’s not a matter of which team is right about it, I thought we should deal with it objectively because it affected millions of lives, so the best way to fix it is to know what happened and how it happened and whoever was responsible must be held accountable, that’s how we correct our course, instead the world turned it into political strategy and turned it into an ugly divorce, that’s why I hate politics and all the things around it it’s like a big cult every side is using it as a card to win over the other one when in reality this virus is supposed to be handled as a collective challenge and state the facts and the responsibility without turning it into a TV drama.

I guarantee you that everyone is tired, yet each side is not willing to admit they were wrong, and that’s how we can fix it, seriously I am tired of watching the world turning into cults, and every cult wants to destroy the other. It didn’t strike me at first because in 2020 I was convinced that this was a virus that came from nature, who could believe that a lap somewhere would create such a deadly virus and leak it by mistake or not, I was among those who refused to believe that someone will deliberately release such evil to the world, I use to fight people around me just like any sane human that such evil does not exist in the world, yes, I believed the authorities and what they were telling us, if someone said to me that the virus came from a lap I would laugh at them, then slowly we began to hear world leaders confessing that it originated from a lab, it just not proper to say it at that time because it won’t be good for the political momentum, and just like that it was used as an election card strategy. That’s when the hell doors got open, and everything was politicized, from the vaccine to every other issue in the world, marriage, and human rights, women’s rights, if this side supports women’s rights, the other side automatically ridicules it, and if one side is not willing to take the vaccine the other side will turn everyone into a vaccine denier, and if one side believed in taking the vaccine the other side will call people brainwashed and government puppets, then we started having censorship around this issue if someone says anything about it they get censored, the political class turned it into a tool to silence their opponents labeling it as misinformation and suddenly the whole world has turned into the Middle East if the authorities are not allowing it, then no one can speak about it. While in the past people were allowed to agree or disagree about any issue, again it became a political cult each side wanted to defeat the other. When the conversation was supposed to be civil, for example, looking at vaccines from a technical point of view, not a political one, whether trials and data show any concerns or not, is the vaccine safe for everyone, is everyone supposed to take it, if not then why, showing the data and then letting people decide, the vaccine got lost in translation while each side using it as a weapon.

Take COVID-19 and apply it to everything else, if one side is saying that every single woman or in a relationship without a child and family is miserable and ugly and childless, and they label these women as a “social poison” also labeling them as the childless club and turning every woman wanting equality into a brainwashed woman, while the other side is not better, they turned every man into a misogynist and a women’s hater, and how men are anti-women, and every man is corrupt and accusing them of wanting a woman who stays at home and being self-serving gender. Each side is losing the argument with people in the middle, in which all they want is to have a good life, wake up in the morning, go to work, and pay their bills, yet both sides are making it hard to exist on this planet. Who cares how you live your life as long as you are not hurting others, while each side wants to dictate how others should live their lives, people are tired, and all they want is to enjoy this ride, while hustling for better future, and without being accused of this or that, just chillin, because life is already hard, people in centre wants to pay their bills and thinking of how they will give their children a better life, if aren’t married and do not have children they just want to take life as it comes, who said that every single woman with no children is a shameful thing, not every person has the same path the same journey some people are born to create a big family and kids and that is fine and some others are not, so does that mean every single childless man is miserable, worthless, men who just partying every night are bellow everyone else and a worthless human, no, this is his freakin life, live it the way you see it, most of people are not radical in their approach they are not extreme just living their life without harming anyone, and that’s where both sides are losing the argument. In my opinion, not every man I meet is a misogynist, and not every woman seeking her freedom is a poisoned woman, I believe in the truth and the facts and what I see with my own eyes, not part of any team, but team the truth and living peacefully, and the minute any topic becomes radical I’m out, I’m still the same person I still believe in women’s rights, especially in the Middle East where women are not allowed to divorce their men if they are in an abusive relationship, women are not permitted citizenship for their children if they marry a man from another country, women are prosecuted for every tiny mistake even killed,  while men are first class citizens, women in the Middle East are not allowed to marry men from other religion it is illegal, while men are allowed to marry women from other religion.

And then what happened to movies and music and comedy? Everything became about politics, even sports got ruined by politics, I miss comedians like “Don Rickels” “Bernie Mac”, also I no longer find movies and music as entertaining as they used to be, drama behind every movie, most of the movies are destroyed by the behind-the-scenes drama, and most movies are not that good. The stories are not that interesting because movies used to be about artists creating art. Now, it has become too politically correct, wanting to please everyone in one movie. I miss the days when 10 to 15 movies came out every year, competing in the box office, as a fan of movies getting excited about each movie being better than the other, plus the acting, scripts, and ideas were much better, I miss movies like “All The Kings Men” “John Q” “American Gangster” “Man Of Honor” “Jerry Maguire” “Jackie Brown” “27 Dresses” “Groundhog Day” “Friday” “Titanic” “Godfather” etc. Movies that made us cry, other times laugh and even feel happier just because those movies made us forget what was going on in our lives. But movies and music have gotten worse since 2020 I also mentioned how music has become more about business and politics and listening to music is all about team X or team Y, while in the past, we listened to music to enjoy the beats and lyrics moves us and if we disliked like the artist that was fine too, but now it’s just about the numbers, statistics, and strategies, when I was younger I used to buy 10 albums for different artists and genres, now it’s like high school or politics nothing has to do with art and love.

At the end, what I feel personally, is that we live in a world where the facts and the truth doesn’t matter anymore, as long as the majority of people think that the narrative fits their purpose, I lost respect for a lot of people I used to see them as knowledgeable, I used to respect people for their objective point of view, and they speak the truth no matter what. Also, it seems like so many individuals would change their mind depending on what the majority think is right or wrong. And it seems like we live in a world where heroes are projected as criminals and terrorist are celebrated and labeled as freedom fighters. Common sense is not a thing anymore, chaos takes over the world and every group is running with a narrative, while truth and justice is lost.
