“The moral universe had not so much decayed here. It had been inverted, like some black hole, under the pressure of all the earth’s malice a place where tribes and histories were sucked in and vaporized, and language flew inside out. The underground chambers were named “disinfection cellars,” the aboveground chambers “bathhouses” – Thomas Keneally, Schindler’s List

Sometimes by looking away, we create a deadly curse for a century. When you look the other way at times of horror you take part in the crime, there are times when you can look away because engaging with the situation will make it worse, because sometimes you can’t look away because the outcomes will be catastrophic and dangerous if you look away and your neighbours look away and then when the whole neighbourhood looks away, then the entire country looks away.

Like so many Holocaust survivors stated “gas chambers did not get established in a day, and the concentration camps didn’t appear overnight” it took the Nazis years and years to groom the entire nation and so many other nations to accept that the Nazi theories they started with children then adults to make them agree with idea that the problem is with the Jews it took the Nazis decades to make the world look away as if it’s just a political problem and when the world finally woke up it was too late six million innocent souls vanished from the world, children, men and women all over Europe just vanished while the world was busy thinking that it’s just another European war, so many people including world leaders fell into the idea that it’s just another War when it was something darker and more vicious than war was happening, it’s was demons from hell created an evil narrative and sadly the world looked away for so many years.

It started around the 1920s with a devilish and evil ideology created by a group of sick-minded people, spreading lies that the world’s biggest problem is the Jews. As I mentioned in the last paragraph, it started with people looking the other way when one shop was vandalized because the owner is Jewish, people looked the other way because it was just one incident, the Nazis next move was creating a social condition that goes with the same narrative and still, people looked away, members of the Jewish community started to disappear or get killed yet people still looked away, so when you read history books you wonder why no one stopped it from happening? Because people didn’t want to get into trouble because they wanted to live in peace, how long before that cycle ended before another cycle begins today, the same way people in the 1920s and 1930s thought to themselves that it was a political issue and how many couple of isolated incidents before we find ourselves in the next Holocaust.

The Nazis in Europe between the 1920s and 1930s were telling Jews “to go back to their original birthplace in the Middle East” They used evil antisemitic slogans such as “Go back to the Middle East” and “The Finale solution” It started with a small group of people painting Jewish homes and stores with red paint and labelling their properties, members of society looked away just like today because it hurts the businesses if they speak up and unwilling to deal with social shaming in the Middle East , or they think it isn’t their problem, how long before we find ourselves living the same hell again if we decide today to look the other way, then we are not different than those who looked away in the 1920s and 1930s because they also did not want to deal with it.

This matter is no longer about politics, it is beyond the cause the Anti-Semitic crowd claim they support, this time Hitler is not in Europe Hitler is in the Middle East, his name is Khamenei, and his army is already on the move like Hitler in Europe,  Khamenei’s army is in Africa, and occupying six countries in the Middle East and everyone is afraid of facing the truth, this time just like last time world leaders think it’s just a conflict in the Middle East and just like World War II world leaders are currently negotiating with the Neo-Nazi regime in Iran to sign a peace agreement, and just like Winston Churchill famous quote “You were given the choice between war and dishonour. You chose dishonour and you will have war”.

Just look for yourself the slogans that the protesters today are chanting “From the river to the sea”, and “The Final Solution” the Nazi’s famous slogan, as you hear today the protesters chanting “go back to Poland” just like what the Nazis used to say to the Jews “Go back to the Middle East”, quoting Hitler again in those demonstrations and painting Jews shops and homes with red paint. We are witnessing the rise of the Neo-Nazi, and again most people are looking the other way, and just like the last time Arab leaders chose again to negotiate and be friendly with the Neo-Nazi regime in Iran. And just like the 1920s and 1930s Jews all over the world are fearful of wearing The Star Of David and are afraid of saying that they are Jewish.

I keep wondering are human beings that naïve or just stupid creatures? I keep asking if this is what most journalists and reporters felt in the 1920s and 1930s, especially when they were trying to open the world’s eyes to the horrors of the Nazis, so like today Khamenei’s main goal and his proxies are to eliminate the Jews, they are reporting it every day in their news networks and carried out through their propaganda, sadly Middle Eastern societies are believing what Khamenei is saying “Zionists are the problem and they must disappear”, the scariest thing is that open-minded people, scholars, and media personnel are not taking it seriously like it will not happen again and describe it as an exaggeration I am afraid Khamenei is fooling the world.

Don’t look away just because you can, don’t look away just because it’s far away from you, and don’t look away because it’s not good for the business, don’t look the other way because you are not Jewish, yes I’m not Jewish also I’m not American or Israeli, I’m just a Middle Eastern girl who wants peace with everyone, I can choose to look away because I have nothing in it, the stake is not that high for me I can shut the hell up and look away because the stake is higher if I don’t, all the social shaming and all the hatred while living among the antisemitic majority and all the nonsense with labelling anyone who shows sympathy towards Jewish people and will face brutal criticism just to shut up, but I can’t simply because my parents taught me to raise my voice in the face of the injustice. I thought the Nazis perished with World War II, but now hearing the Anti-Semitic chants louder and louder so openly and boldly I am afraid it did not.

When Oskar Schindler decided to save Jewish souls while living among the Nazis and when he decided to risk it all, especially his business and placed his whole life in danger, like so many brave people at that time risking everything to save so many innocent souls from the Holocaust, few people choose not to look away, when in fact they could pretended it’s not their job or mission to do so, and so on Oskar Schindler decided to save elven hundred souls from the Holocaust. So do not look away this time, be brave enough to save souls and open your eyes, who knows what will happen if people decide to look away again?

“Whoever saves one life, saves the world entire.” –Thomas Keneally, Schindler’s List
